Russian Tactical Suit Gorka

Suit "Gorka" or as it is called correctly - Suit Mountain Windproof. The classic of Russian uniform, and truly, now, is the most unique element of uniform. In foreign equipment, there is simply no such element of clothing. The suit is in demand of many Russian military personnel, hunters, tourists, and foreign army equipment lovers, simply because it has truly no similar operational characteristics, because of which it became a legend of Russian uniform, a legend, which sooner or later will make a hand each.
The ancestor of this costume can be considered the mountain costumes of the German mountain rangers, which were used during the Second World War. They were also made from a tent canvas fabric and had anorak and trousers. Although, in fairness, it is worth noting that such costumes in one form or another were in the mountain divisions of many armies.
In the USSR, such costumes became in demand in connection with the introduction of a limited contingent of Soviet troops in Afghanistan. The terrain there is mountainous, the winds blow serious, so the soldiers of special units needed wear-resistant and wind-proof clothing. Therefore, the Soviet designers turned to the German experience and created a sample that came to us under the name "Gorka". The first such costumes appeared “behind the river” as early as in 1981, and after the end of the war they did not go into oblivion, but gained even greater popularity, being released even now by many companies.
The Gorka suit is popular not only among military personnel. Hunters, fishermen, tourists appreciated it. It is so popular that you might seen it in videogames Call of Duty, Battlefield, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six.
Classical "Gorka" is always made of canvas tent fabric. It is worth noting that many options are now made with reinforcing pads of camouflage blended fabric, which certainly improves the masking properties of the suit. Therefore, if you need a disguise - buy such a suit, and not all-camouflaged and entirely from a blend. The fabric of the “Gorka” gradually, after washing and wearing, will be covered with a camouflage net of stains on the folds of the fabric, which also blurs the silhouette very well.
The Gorka-4 suit is completed with an Anorak type jacket. It is an improved version of its predecessor. In this model, protruding elements are simplified and the number of protective overlays is increased. Anorak jacket is practical when used with body armor and unloading system.
Gorka-4 complements the range of modern Russian spetsnaz mountain "Gorka" storm suits which became widespread in units of the Russian Army and internal troops. The suit consists of anorak jacket with hood and pants with suspenders. Loose-fitting for unrestrained movement & extra layers of clothing. Made of a dense base layer of cotton, in the style of the old Plash Palatka rain capes, combined with reinforcing strong polycotton fabric in all hard wearing areas. Elastics on the sides and wrists of jacket and on the waist and around the calves of pants that provides the best fit of the suit and lesser wind resistance. Entrances to side pockets are protected by special strap. Front pocket for documents. Reinforcing fabric on sleeves of jacket is made in a form of pockets which can be used for placing elbow protection pads inside. Adjustable hood with visor. Pants have two side cargo pockets, two rear and two in side seam. Bottom of the trousers has straps, lockable in 3 positions. "These suits can be seen on the machine gunners of air assault team, on FSB security officer, and Special Forces sniper detachment of Internal troops - everybody certainly like this successful thing that has become a symbol of belonging to "the workers of the war".
