This is a 6.5'x7' quilt created as a final project in a quilting course. 

Through the quilting process, I used a free motion embroidery foot on my machine so I could create images across the entire span of the quilt. The gold thread among a wash of dreamy blues and purples gives a sort of soft yet assertive look to the quilt. Paired with a variety of punchy fabric patterns, this quilt evokes what is important to me in my life from the stitches to the pattern and boarder.

Dogs, flowers, fish, names of loved ones and even portraits of loved ones are hidden among the busy patterns in this quilt. They are subtle but create a beautiful textured network to the eye.
