Passport : Chinese Indonesian Identity
An exhibition piece based on the identity of Chinese Indonesian.
Passport is a form of identification of an individual , which could not define its owner’s cultural background.
In this project, the passport will serve as a symbolism of the Chinese Indonesian identity. The cover of the passport represent the Indonesian value that the Chinese Indonesian have.
Passport theme is also used to depict the concept of traveling and migration of the Chinese ancestors in the past. The illustrations inside the passport consist some of the Chinese traditions and objects that the Chinese ancestors carried to Indonesia during migration.
However, as it is affected by other cultures, the traditions are slowly dying out. Thus, this project aims to remind the Chinese Indonesian to preserve their traditions.
