Detection of early-stage lymphedema

This device is designed to detect lymphedema in an early stage. Lymphedema often develops after a cancer treatment. It can not be cured, but can be stabilized, that's why it is so important to detect it at an early stage. The device measures 3 different parameters: bio-impedance, temperature and skin color. The device is still a work in progress, but the first test are promising.
This project was a co-creation project in collaboration with: Karine Tollenaere, Tine Van Moeseke, Brecht Dujardin, Nina Storms, Saar Vande Kerckhove, Marie Hoste, Laura Dens and Ayano Koyrita.
The project won a Big Questions award 2017-2018.
