The Consulate General of Sweden in New York asked me to design a tote bag for their biggest event of the year - the midsummer celebration in Battery Park, New York. With a brief to design a tote bag that both celebrates Swedish midsummer and promotes Swedish culture, I decided to communicate Swedish culture, design, food and innovation in a shape of the classical midsummer flower wreath. In this way, I combined midsummer with promotion of Sweden in New York. I used organic shapes and natural and warm colors that also represent the Swedish flag.
