Stool Made of Single Piece of Steel

This stool is made of one piece of 11 gauge steel. It was drilled, cut, and bent, but not welded, so it is called the One Single Piece of Eleven Gauge Steel Without Welding Chair.
The process of the 3:1 scaled model. I drilled a couple of holes to fit a pipe in there to support the seat so when people sit on it, it will preform like a spring.
The up-scaled chair used the steel with the same thickness, so the base couldn't hold its back's weight. I ended up cutting the back shorter, making it more like a stool.
The design was changed slightly to make it more elegant and stable at the same time, yet it was not designed for daily use. It is more like an art piece that would be displayed in a gallery.

It looks perfect in the middle of the square-shaped lawn behind the library in Pratt campus in Brooklyn, along with other cool sculptures created by Pratt alumni. However, they probably won't allow me to do that.
Great thanks to our professor Stuart Sachs and Pratt metal shop technician Adam Apostolos!
