(Governing Energy Op Ed, Mixed Media, IED, 2016)
The final project at IED was to illustrate an Op Ed using mixed media. The featured article in the newspaper was about governing energy and how a radioactive leak or an oil spill does not only affect one state but the whole world (click here to download the whole article). The salad represents the whole world, and the characters are all part of this salad. They all resemble each other, highlighting the fact that an oil spill is not specific to a single race or culture, but affects them all. And just like in real life, they are trying to escape from the "olive oil", more like the petroleum oil that is destroying the salad.
