æon - Stereoscopic Audiovisual Experience

æon is a stereoscopic audiovisual experience created for an exhibition titled ‘Duality: Sound and Vision,’ utilising 3D forms and sound, for viewing via a stereoscopic headset. The central theme explores the temporality of both the aural and visual elements, and their relation at times as they continually progress. Use of the stereoscopic lens and headphones aims at immersing the viewer into the controlled environment that breaks away from the constructs and learned perceptions of the real world; ‘an eye unruled by man-made laws of perspective, an eye unprejudiced by compositional logic.’ The progression of the visual and aural stimuli is ambiguous as to its direct meaning, but nonetheless, a metaphor for vision in the eyes of the beholder.
