ANIS FREIHA'S URBAN DICTIONARY
Moujam Al Alfaz Al Amiya is an arabic Dictionary of non-classical vocables in the spoken Arabic. This project takes on an experimental interpretation of the famous urban dictionary by Anis Freiha and breaks the traditional way of how dictionaries are written.
The interpretation respects and plays the role of a dictionary: words are placed in an alphabetical order with their definition. However the words are placed in order to build sentences and create anecdotes to put words in context. The slang sentences are differentiated visually and the illustrated typographic visualization of the arabic letters are a way to link the different words together while going completely against the conventions of a dictionary.
