Shape/Shift is a dual-channel interactive installation that allows visitors to collaboratively build virtual forms through the gestures and motions in space. It was created for the annual Internet Week Festival in NYC. The project was installed for one week at the Internet Week Headquarters at 82 Mercer Street in SOHO in May of 2012. 

Two Microsoft Kinects suspended overhead track the 3D location and forms of visitors to the space. In response, two large 12'x8' projections depict a virtual space that is augmented through the motion of peoples bodies in front of the projections. When people move through the space, they leave a trail of color and form embodied in the 3D mesh.

We exported .dxf 3d object files every half hour, and 3d printed the mesh landscapes (see below).
