Commercial space - Booth      |     2016     |     Academic project

Born by the collaboration between the ERSAF (Ente Regionale per i Servizi all’Agricoltura e alle Foreste), Cascina Basmetto and NABA Milano, Lunch booth is one of a series of spatial devices that respond to the need for a new approach to biological production of rice.

For more than twenty years, the southern suburb of Milan is a protected agricultural area and most of its territory is dedicated to the production of rice. The shape of the booth takes inspiration from the shape of the rice grain itself, stylized and “decomposed”, just as it happens in the process of separating the grain from its protective external part. Thanks to this project, it has been possible to learn, experiment and use the CNC cutting in all its aspects.
