For my solo exhibition at Centre d’Art La Panera, I created a couple of new illustrated cocktail artworks which are representative of the Catalan culture. The first one is called Anytime is Vermut Time.
Traditionally, vermuts in Catalonia were meant to open the appetite before a big meal. I grew up having a vermut every Sunday before lunch.
Most vermuts have a sweet taste so we combine the drink with salty snacks to balance the palate; like in this case adding olives and clams to the mix.
With this artwork, I want to focus the message on the fact that we can drink Vermut at any time of the day, and not only as an aperitif before lunch like traditionally.
