The National gig poster.

The National means to lot to me.

Since I heard their fourth studio album 'Boxer' back in 2013 I always wanted to design a poster for them, and years later I dared to do it.

For that, I was inspired by the work of Victor Vasarely, who is better known as the father of op art; the main idea was to give the poster the appearance of being in motion even though it is printed, also play with angular shapes and lines of their logo, a graphic representation of the studio where they recorded their last album. The design also respects all the visual identity and colors parameters developed by Pentagram.

Aside from the physical format of the printed poster, I took advantage of Instagram video platform and I animated too.

I hope you like it, this little tribute to a great great band.

For best results I used Cinema 4D, Photoshop and After Effects (for the animation).
Thanks for watching.
