Pacific Pilsner Beer Label Design

Pacific Pilsner Beer Label Design
This project is to create a new label for the Pacific Pilsner Beer Brand using hand-lettering techniques and preparing artwork for pre-press printing. It is important to communicates to the consumer what they’re buying; tells a story about what the product is; make sure it differentiates it from the competition; and most importantly highlights the product in some way to help it stand out. When I first began creating the beer label, I had not much idea about what I was going to do, but after a trip to the Legacy Liquor Store, I saw so many different liquor brand’s packaging design, I got much more knowledge about how were them looks, and the reason behind the design.
Mood Board
• I want to using the color that gives a very colorful and bright feeling to the beer can. But also include some colors that would create contrast to make the content stand out.
• Using Script fonts to the brand name, which gives more friendly and relax feeling.
• Unique from other competitors
• Summertime
• Exciting
• Dreamy
• Ideal for both old and young consumers
I play with different colors combinations, like the energy drinks bottle colors, or muted monochromatic colors scheme. For this concept I add a banner that helps to emphasis more on the brand name, so I tried to positions it differently on the design, also I tried another typefaces to see which would work better.
As I got an other chance as my second experience for redo this project, I decide to create an icon what combine both bald eagles and salmon fish ( in my opinion, I think both these two animals were both iconic for west cost of the Canada, which are representative this beer was made it locally.)
When I first began re-creating the beer label, I had not much idea about what I was going to do, but after I read through the creative brief of Pacific Pilsner and flip some images on flicker, I found out there is one kind fish called Exocoetidae ( also known as Flying Fish) particularly live in tropical and warm subtropical waters. So I thinks why play with putting two iconic animal from the west cost Canada. And to be shows the characteristics of Canada is the multi-culture, so I also take the inspiration from traditional Japanese painting.

Mood
• I want to using the color that gives a very colorful and bright feeling to the beer can. But also include some colors that would create contrast to make the content stand out.
• Using Script fonts to the brand name, which gives more relax feeling and hipster retro style to the brand
• Eye catching by using the colors
• Unique from other competitors
• Summertime
• Exciting
• Dreamy
• Ideal for both old and young consumers
I thinks the overall of this project is really fun, I enjoy doing this project, and it’s really a good way to practice on keep building the hand on skills with using the design software, but most importantly is to practice on how to communicates to the consumer what they’re buying; what would be better to tells a story about what the product is; to make sure it differentiates it from the competition; and learn how highlights the product in some way would help your client’s brand stand out more.
