Visual Book Design
“Il crollo delle aspettative” is an essay published in 2005 that calls to action the city of Milan, which was stuck because of the crisis. The project aimed to design a new version of the same book, where all the elements would convey the internal contents, moving from the book conceived as an object to a book as a complex artifact that would enhance the reading experience. The concept is based on the double identity of Milan presented by the author: on one side there is a passive and succubus city, while on the other hand, the same city shows an insurrectional and optimistic spirit. These two sides don’t alternate, but rather they coexist and merge to form a single whole.
