Árboles de Guayaquil is a small sample of the most common trees that are part of the ornament of the city; no doubt a more extensive publication is needed to describe all the flora of the city and its surroundings. This book is aimed at the tourist guides of Guayaquil, who have the task of designing green areas, who have nurseries, gardening, and bonsai; but above all to those who make decisions about the construction of the urban landscape.

The purpose of this work is to show descriptive data and to illustrate with photographs the endemic, native and introduced arboreal species that can be found in the green areas of the city, so that the reader can recognize the species that should be part of their floristic identity, to encourage and promote the increase of native and endemic species in the city of Guayaquil, which is a model in green areas for other cities and which also incorporate their characteristic flora as part of their identity.
