I began my research with the 1920s Jazz Age.
This led me to The Great Gatsby, which is one of my favorite books. So I looked to the symbols and imagery of the story/movie for inspiration.
I ended up basing my concept off of the dichotomy of East Egg and West Egg, and the differences in lifestyles and morals. New money vs. old money.

The circle sleeve-cuffs that I lined with sequins for a peek-a-boo effect when my model would move her arms.
Dolman shirt in muslin and then fashion fabric.
The pants for my second look were made out of an upholstery/velvet combination, which I beaded.
