UCC - Recycling Graphics

University College Cork – National University of Ireland, Cork (UCC).

UCC is one of the biggest universities in Ireland, with over 18,000 students currently attending. While working at Babelfís, I worked closely with the UCC Environmental Department, who were having problems with the absence of recycling on campus.

We found from our research that the students were confused by the already enforced system. The non-presence of graphics to communicate the set-up was a large factor in
the lack of recycling. Other problems were the considerable use of styrofoam cups and single use water bottles. Also, smoking at non designated areas and not disposing
 properly of the butt afterwards.

As a solution I produced wall graphics, window graphics, roll up displays and turnstile stickers, all targeting the issues. We also brought out a range of reusable cups and water bottles available in the shops located around campus.

The following is a poster and roll-up with some of the amazing results we reached
after just 8 weeks.
