Vance Chavis Library Renovation Plan
UNC Greensboro Department of Interior Architecture
In 2010 in anticipation of the City of Greensboro's design of the Lake Jeanette Branch of the Greensboro Public Library. The Department of Interior Architecture at UNC Greensboro started a project to propose a redesign of a local branch. The branch selected was the Vance Chavis Branch on West Lee Street. As a part of that a book highlighting the research of the library system in Greensboro was created. Using a laser cutter the text for the cover was etched into the face and is open all the way to the first page where the table of contents are located. The book is divided into sections which a group of students were responsible for. After all the research was collected it was formatted and organised into the book to match the design standards set forth by the studio class.

The collection of Images were also placed onto student designed boards to be exhibited later on in the term when the final designs were completed.
The books cover has had the title cut out using a laser cutter. The Table of Contents is visible here through the lettering.
As the project developed and progressed I moved towards editing renderings of 3D models and applying scale figures and effects to give the spaces more detail and life.
