University of Lincoln: Isaac Newton Building Brief

Within my time at university, I undertook a project with a friend of mine, Antek Karbowiak. The brief was to design a new mural that celebrated the university and the city on a large scale that would be seen through the large windows on the front face of the building. As the building was a home for physics, computer science and engineering, we wanted to focus on those for our piece. We chose the colour spectrum as a basis for our piece as it's instantly recognisable as a visual representation of light energy through prisms. We wanted the prism to be a metaphor for the University, the mathematical equations being the student's intentions prior to university and the spectrum representing the different paths students may choose upon graduation.
