Illustration Spring 2018: "Jacques Rabbit" Magazine Ad Illustration
Summary
This project was assigned for Illustration of Spring 2018 at Weber State University as our second project during the course. This project, "IP2: Magazine Advertisement", we, under specific magazine conditions and a specific publication, had to choose either a bunny or bear mascot and illustrate a product, choosing a specific audience for the product.

My product, choosing the bunny as my starting point, was a traveling phone charger sold specifically at airports named Jacques Rabbit, based on the characters of Sanrio, having his own personality, quirks, and even outfits that would be exclusively available at specific airports.

It was a product for both children and adults that are kids at heart, also examining "cute culture" that still appeals to some young adults today. I chose bright colors, specifically blue and pinks, to bring a happy feel to the advertisement.

Process
After initial sketches, all versions were created in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro on a Samsung Galaxy Tab, with text / logo of the publication initially designed in Adobe Illustrator, then the artwork overall was edited in Adobe Photoshop.
Above: rough ideas of the variety of outfits you can collect, noting specific locations and drawing inspiration from different cultures and noting popular tourist-y attire as well.
