The task was to create icons that will represent different learning ranks. These ranks are based on the hierarchy of a star’s luminosity or brightness.​ The higher learning rank, the brighter the star is. 

Hence, in creating the icons for the ranks, the client wanted the user to have an instant understanding of the learning rank based on how luminous or how bright the icon is.

Pegs for the icons were based on the styles incorporated in Kurzgesagt's infographic videos. Like the pegs, faces were also added to help emphasise the rank's hierarchy and give an element of fun and playfulness.
