This comic strip tells the story of when I broke my arm in primary school. I chose to portray myself and my friend as monkeys to capture the cheeky and playful nature of the setting. The layout of the strip emphasises the shocking and emotional, narrative, from excitement in the 2nd and 3rd boxes to the climax of the story in the 4th and much bigger box. I chose to draw the broken arm this way to make sure all audiences understand what had happened and to also add an element of comedy. I found that pen drawing was alot harder than sketching as I wasn't able to erase mistakes and shading was difficult to build up with pure hatching and dotting.
