The Client:
For our client Pilot Plinth is a placement agency that specializes in pilots and flight crews.  The meaning of Plinth is a strong structure that sits at the bottom of a stature for support.  Pilot Plinth was created to help support pilots and the aviation industry.  Started in 2005, Pilot Plinth was a small agency that partnered up pilots and later flight crews with companies.  Over the years they have created strong bonds both with individuals and companies while providing phenomenal services to both parties.

The Brief:
The client wanted a modern design that represents their values and their industry.  They wanted a logo that would replace their original logo and that would stand the test of time.  Their current logo was dated by the design trends that were used when it was originally conceived.  The client wanted to keep their color scheme as close to their darkened yellow as possible since the color and the brand have become interlinked.

The Result:
The client was opened minded to any ideas I had for this project.  I went with a modern on a symbol synonyms of aviation, the pilots wings.  Since the wings have always been deeply associated with aviation both in military and civilian worlds.  The client gave me references to both modern, minimal, and abstract designs they were open to seeing.  I decided to go with a mix of modern and minimal design choices for the wings.  I kept the color scheme in the yellow family, but choice to use gold.  Since yellow and gold are representative of honor, optimism, loyalty, and tradition it was the obvious choice.  As for the typeface I went with a classic san serif that was both clean and modern.
