Space for Public Events
DIMENSIONS : 57 M   X   35 M   AREA : 1'850M²  LOCATION : SANTA FE, MEXICO
Barrio Santa Fe

Year of construction: 2017

Executed by: Lonas Lorenzo S.A. de C.V.

•This public space in modern area of Mexico City called Santa Fe, is a part of a development project for multipurpose platform to provide public meetings, concerts and all types of events.
•Structural solution is made through considering many factors, such as basic client's requests, landscape integration, geometry optimization and various shape analysis methods. A fully parametric solution gave a possibility to change shape on-the-go, adapt project to any kind of changes , generate detailed connections and create BIM-like layout drawings to speed-up construction process.
•The eye-catching elements of this project are tree-like steel columns that correspond main structural axis and optimize force transfer to foundation.
•Triangular roof cells were optimized to create boundaries for ETFE cushions, but later all geometry was adapted to support fabric material and make easy linear patterning.
•The project is integrated into landscape creating fluid air flow and clean view while being visual attraction for pedestrians and others who see it from surrounding buildings.
•It is a fully parametric project developed by various techniques for formfinding, shape analysis and optimization, patterning and production.
