Daun is a cutlery set that consists of a spoon, a fork and a knife series, influenced by the Malay and Indian Culture, which use their bare hands to eat. This cutlery set is a form of appreciation towards their spiritual beliefs, where hands are considered to be the precious organ that is responsible for feeding. In this context, each finger represents different elements that will transform the food and give energy to our physical body, mind and soul.
The design is inspired by the pinching hand gesture, which is commonly used to pick the food. The shape is also drawn from banana leaf and the line represents its veins. It is also believed that the fragrance of the banana leaf will increase our appetites, thus commonly used by the Malays and Indians as a serving plate or food packaging. The cutlery set is made of stainless steel, which is durable and resistant to corrosion. The flawless copper finishing with a hint of violet complements the collection and gives a luxury feels for the users.
