I love creating intricate and unique handmade invitations. The idea of creating this invitation came from a secret decoder toy from my son's kids meal. I've always wanted to create one of these for a client but it was never a good fit for anything until this. I had previously created a Honey I Shrunk Our Son bug invitation before and decided to continue the mad entomologist theme for this party. The hardest part of this design was finding a sturdy translucent red vellum to use for the decoder and write instructions for it's use. I couldn't just put a red sheet of vellum with the invite a call it a day. It's not everyday you receive an elaborate invite to a child's birthday party and I didn't want my whole theme to be confusing. This project allowed me to push my creativity and show off what I can do when I don't have to worry about a budget.
