ROC-1 Climbing Shoe

The ROC-1 climbing shoe is a project that came out of a softgoods course I took during my senior year of my undergraduate career. The course focused on designing athletic footwear, although I decided to stretch the guidelines of the project to allow myself to follow my passion for climbing and design these climbing shoes.
Taking influence from existing climbing shoes, like the Scarpa X-Force and La Sportiva Solutions, sketching began to develop the ROC-1 into more of an all around climbing shoe.
Pattern making off the custom last that I created, lead to the development of a prototype which would be further developed and refined into the final model.
A leather construction allows the ROC-1 to conform to the users foot, and keep that shape, for a custom fit feel from a store bought shoe.
With a slipper like feel, and the inclusion of an adjustable top strap, the ROC-1 provides a comfortable fit throughout your session without sacrificing performance.
