Animal Karma: Concept & Process

In a just a few weeks I collaborated with an illustrator and created a collection that was based on five characters that we had come up with.

The Story: After all the destruction the human race had inflicted on the earth, mother nature decides to take revenge by using the spirit of various animals to possess the bodies of humans to wreak havoc utilizing there own.

The Characters:

Bruno - healer from the city of Atlantis that came onto land after sea levels had dropped.  He draws his power from the snails and coral that grow on his body after becoming possessed by their spirits.  After seeing the good in some people he became a helper rather than a destroyer of human life.

Zenubia - Inspired by queen Zenobia who ruled over the Syria-based Palmyrene Empire in 240 AD.  She was possessed by the spirit of a black mamba and is able to poison those around her with her long nails, shortly after debilitating them with her  She still does not believe the human race is capable of being trusted keepers of the earth so she continues to kill whether they are hunters or not.

Nikkita - born in the amazons and became possessed by the spirit of a toucan.  She focuses her powers on hunters and uses her claws and speed to snatch guns and engage in combat but avoids killing humans.  She does this to prevent the unnecessary killing of animals.

Rowana -was possessed by the spirit of a tarsier and dwells in the rainforest of Malaysia.  She uses her vision to spy on those wreaking havoc on both humans and animals.

Jarrah - possessed by the spirit of a wild cat, and does not believe there is good in people after having kept cats that were slaughtered for sport while he was fully human.  He lives in the Savannah plains and uses his claws and collar of spikes to defend himself. He also uses his super hearing for spying purposes.
