Kalamkari is an exquisite ancient craft of painted and printed fabrics. It derives it’s name from Kalam meaning Pen, and Kari meaning work, literally Pen-work. It is a hand painting as well as block printing
with natural dyes onto the fabric. The evidence of the fabrics were found during Indus valley civilization in 18th century in coromandel region. I visited the coromandel region to learn the intricate hand painted craft "kalamkari". My men’s wear collection showcase “The grunge, bold looks hence define the theme "Rustic Coromandel".
