These posters were designed and printed as presents for my child (animal kingdom) and my wife (plant kingdom). The idea was to use the scientific names of the clades (phylum, class, order, family etc) as the branches of the taxonomy 'tree', and to call out the common names of animals/plants that each person would recognise and love. Illustrations were added to bring the posters to life for my 5-year-old.

Illustrations started out as pencil sketches in my A6 sketchbook, and were finished in pen and ink. At this scale they look fairly rough and ready but in the context of the poster this works ok. I may add more illustrations to the plant poster over time.
