Festival «Empty Hills»
This is a non-profit festival of experimental music and free creativity.
Festival "Empty Hills" is held annually since 2003. During the first 9 years, "Empty Hills" already earned great popularity and recognition of young people throughout Russia and the CIS. This is one of the most unusual and colorful festival held in Russia. Having absorbed a variety of musical styles and trends from experimental music to jazz, to reggae, to folk and ethno, in a few years of its existence it has found its own unique character. The uniqueness of the festival is that no matter what, and in spite of all, it is for free and all the music and art groups are also working without a fee. Every year the number of visitors to the festival is growing, and it was decided to re-imagine the purpose of the festival, create a new concept and improve it's cultural and aesthetic level.
The main target audience of the festival is the hippies. We choose the Fenichka bead bracelet as the metaphor for the festival, as if the hippie culture has come down to our time through this artefact.
Colored beads are laid out to create different shapes, signs for the festival and then to be converted into flat vector designs.
A specially designed font highlights a carefree grassroots nature of the festival.
All these elements are the base to create the corporate identity and the graphic documents, posters, tickets for this unique festival.

Некоммерческий фестиваль неформатной музыки и свободного творчества.
Фестиваль "Пустые Холмы" проводится ежегодно с 2003 года. За 9 лет существования «Пустые холмы» успели завоевать большую популярность и признание молодежи всей России и ближнего зарубежья. Это один из самых необычных и ярких фестивалей, проходящих в современной России. Впитав в себя множество музыкальных стилей и течений от экспериментальной музыки и джаза до регги, фолка и этно, за несколько лет своего существования он обрёл собственное неповторимое лицо. Уникальность фестиваля в том, что несмотря ни на что и вопреки всему вход на него остался бесплатным и все музыкальные и творческие коллективы также работают без гонорара. C каждым годом число посетителей фестиваля растёт, в связи с чем было принято решение переосмыслить цели фестиваля, разработать новую концепцию и повысить его культурно-эстетический уровень.
В качестве главной метафоры стиля была выбрана бисерная фенечка - атрибут культуры хиппи дошедший до наших времён.
Из разноцветного бисера выкладываются различные символы для фестиваля и затем преобразуются в плоские картинки.
Cозданный специально шрифт несёт в себе небрежный рукотворный характер,
Из этих элементов образуются все графические решения для носителей на фестивале.
