This brief is an entry for the International Society of Typographic Designers. The theme was 'Anniversaries' so I chose to commemorate the centennial of the 1918 Spanish Influenza.
I used a controlled colour palette of grayscale and red as a reference back to the public health information posters that were printed cheaply to distribute in bulk The slab font I used is also reminiscent of the letterblocks that were used in 1918 to create these posters. However, I hove off-set this confrontational aesthetic by using a sons serif font in a modern. more controlled and setting for the body copy.
