As anniversary is a recurring event, an annual occasion, I looked at famous occasions but along the way I stumbled upon the Jewish Religion, and their Seven year celebration “Shemittah”. This is celebrated every seven years. On this year, the Jewish community rest their land in Israel. The idea of resting the land of the seventh year started my concept on resting land for the environment. After my research I concluded before beginning my project that I would have seven columns in my grid system to represent the seven.

I would use the circle element which is a full stop, as my design to represent the earth. This also represents the indefinite infinity of an anniversary. As essentially when an anniversary occurs, its indefinite, which is like the circle, always there forever. The colour orange/gold I selected is to represent the seven in colour as a form. It’s bright, and good, like the light from creation.   I would use Baskerville serif type as my body type, as it’s got a feeling of antique to its overall aesthetic, but it’s very sharp, its shape, curves and contrast give it a great look on the page. I also selected gill sans as my secondary type. This represents my voice at times in the book, what I’m thinking and saying. It’s a younger type than Baskerville and a san serif type. It really holds itself well on the page as it’s well-proportioned in itself.
