My book is an examination of the main contributors to the Oxford English Dictionary and Webster’s American - English Dictionary, looking at one language from two perspectives. I was inspired by contronyms, words with two opposite meanings, also known as Janus words after the ancient Roman God. The book has two covers taking inspiration from Janus and his two faces. It is split into three sections, one focusing on Noah Webster, the other half is about W.C. Minor an army surgeon who was one of the main contributors to the OED which he worked on during his incarceration at an insane asylum. The middle section focuses on the future of the dictionary and highlights through fading text and paper weight choice how the print dictionary will soon be obsolete.
