AIA Catalog: Building Green

As we change and grow within our environment, the buildings we construct should change with us. Building and designing sustainable and green architecture will help lessen the carbon footprint of energy-sucking buildings and help further integrate with the environment.
Focusing on green building, I incorporated a few quotes about building with nature from architects. Along with these quotes, I've added small inserts about the impact of our current construction habits and how they affect the Earth and each other.

I’ve featured greenhouse architecture images filled with plants to promote this environmentally friendly attitude that architecture needs to continue on. Greenhouses allowed me to utilize the abundance of plants pictured to incorporate into my environmental design. I’ve highlighted the plants to emphasize their integration in the environment they are growing in, despite being indoors.
The hardcover was constructed using recycled cardboard and paper bags I have found on campus and in my home. Choosing paper stock that was environmentally friendly was important as it was central to the overall design and theme of my take on the AIA catalog. I chose Neenah’s Moonrock Environment Paper 80T that was FSC certified and Green Seal certified. Each heading and quote is set in Program OT Bold and the body is set in RuckSack.
