The Wolfsonian Museum is part of the FIU school and is a place to showcase a number of artworks and collections as well as being a place of research. The old website is too busy for most visitors to the website with information being hidden within several levels making it difficult to seek out information that would be helpful. Within the new website layout there is a cleaner design which is more organized for visitors to find the information that need fast and easy. The design is reminiscent to the old website regarding the background color but there is more colors including the gold-yellow that is showed throughout the website in various themes. It allows for more variation to the website and creates a more interesting and modern look to the website while keeping some of it's original tone. The idea for the color scheme came from the architecture of the Wolfsonian Museum building which resembles a Mayan or Aztec type temple or building. When thinking of those two themes it brought up the image of gold that was a main artifact used within the Mayan and Aztec cultures. The black background for the entire website seperates it from other websites which are usually a light color and the black will also contrast nicely with the golden accents throughout the site.
