IKKO TANAKA: LIFE & DESIGN | EXHIBITION CONCEPT

The idea to behind this fictitious exhibition was create three products of your choice, we choose to create a poster, a folder and a book. each product has a individual objective and at the same time they work upon a purpose, tell people who Mr. Tanaka was.

To create these products we didn't use Ikko Tanaka's style, we wanted to honor not only his design history but him as a important figure to the design community. We decided to use a minimalist style to create these products, we wanted to speak through the spaces and grid. We wanted to create a contrast, pages that convey a lot and pages that let you breathe, think and appreciate.

In this fictitious project we decided to talk about two things Ikko Tanaka and the city he was born, Nara. The exhibition was suppose to take place at the Nara National Museum.

The third product, the book, talks about the life of Mr. Tanaka and the city that he was born, even though his career was build in Tokyo, but since Nara is an important city in Japan history we thought we could talk a lot about it.
To show our products here we decided to use lorem ipsum instead of the actual text.
In this product in particular (Folder) we used Sia Xie's text to compose the content inside the folder, I'm not sure if you can actually read the text through these pictures but I assure you that the text used belongs to her amazing book about Ikko Tanaka.

Go check her work!

Sia Xie was not involved with this project at all, and I will understand if she wants me to remove it from Behance.
All the Japanese text used to compose this project was google translated since we don't speak Japanese, so if you spot any mistakes, please tell us !

I would like to remind that this project was made as an assessment for college! :)
