This piece was created because my sister wants a sandpiper carving that my mother owns. I hoped she would be content if she could have a drawing instead. This piece was done on light blue colored paper. I drew it, looking at the wood carving of three sandpipers on a log. I sketched the piece in front view. I changed the position of the birds slightly to create a better composition.
