ZX-12 Recon Drone

Background
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. UAVs are a component of an unmanned aircraft system (UAS); which include a UAV, a ground-based controller, and a system of communications between the two. The flight of UAVs may operate with various degrees of autonomy: either under remote control by a human operator or autonomously by onboard computers. The name drone was derived originally from the male bee which is characterised by a specific buzzing sound which is quite deep and sometimes annoying. This could have been a similar scenario for the initial drones but the modern day drones have evolved and the main trait that named them (the buzzing) is barely noticeable. That’s why the industry prefers to call them (UAV) now.

The Project
A personal project I completed in my spare time, I set out to create a military inspired recon drone, keeping in mind that it needed to be small and light enough to carry around and easy to setup. It has a lightweight body and frame, a radar system and a removable battery in the back. The frame and colour scheme is inspired by the stealth bomber.
