ABOUT THE CLIENT
This was a prototyping and redesign project for "Jabones La Lagartija", a Mexican artisanal soap workshop.
"La Lagartija" has all kinds of artisanal, all-natural soaps, but they needed a mold that would set them apart from the competition.
OBJECTIVE
Hence, the objective was to create several silicone molds with embossed text and the brand slogan: "Jabón de autor" ("Author-created soap").
This soap-making process requires the liquid recipe to be poured individually on the molds. The molds had to resist several production rounds and normal wear and tear.
THE DESIGN PROCESS
This project started with a graphic proposal for the soap's front faces. Then, I 3D-modeled the complete product and started to build the prototypes. The final soap models were made of laser-embossed wood and industrial foam.
