Quilombismo

Exhibition about 42 communities in Rio de janeiro state
Itinerant exhibition showed on streets and some schools of Rio

Media Repercussion:

The word quilombo has its origins in the Quimbundo language, which means:
Society formed by young warriors that belonged to ethnical groups unrooted from their communities.
The remaining territory of Quilombola communities  is a concretisation of conquers of afrodescendants in Brazil, fruit of several victories and heroic resistance to the opressor and slavery system instated in Colonial Brazil and the recognising of this historical inequity, although still running through the sociocultural relations of the Brazilian society, as a system, the slavery ended in 1888 and was responsible for the entrance in Brasil os more than 3,5 millions woman and man prisoners originated from the African continent.
