On the edge of Slovenia's capital, where urban meets suburban is a Museum of architecture and design.Despite it is located in the castle, it is facing with lack of space for exhibitions and working artists. They decided to renovate and extend museum on the attic.

Our idea was to to show old wooden construction and leave space open. Inside we put working boxes that are connected with open path for exhibitions.

These volumes are thought to be great indoor roof lamps that can illuminate the exhibition space and circulation during both day and night.
The path is a unique floor plan that allows you to experience space without change of height, allowing for a better use of the exhibition space.

Apartments, offices, services and multifunctional room are defined by some volumes built within the existing structure independently.
The sequence of beams and pillars is the first figure that inhabits this space and characterizes it, is the quality element that the project wants to expose.
Living the roof of the castle means to live its structure.
