The aim of this project was to give a product a second skin using Dieter Rams's formal method: the grid. We had to come from the inside of the product, understand the way it worked, then choose any essential component in order to rebuild the product. 
We chose to rebuild a hand vacuum. And the components we kept were those two: the engine and the filter.

We decided we were going to align and use them vertically, and try to find ways to make the aspiration optimal. 

We had to calculate the minimum required space for the two components.

Once we had an idea of the volume required, we went to some analyzing and researches:
