The Case:
This case involves the failure to timely diagnose and properly treat the ovarian tumor (hereinafter referred to as the “teratoma”) discovered in Lyn Valdez's pelvis on August 11, 2012.  Then, on June 21, 2013, at or about the time of the birth of Lyn’s twins via in vitro fertilization, it was discovered that Lyn’s teratoma had undergone malignant transformation.  As a result of Defendants’ negligence, invasive squamous cell carcinoma caused Lyn’s death. The defendants faced charges of wrongful death and the estate of Lyn Valdez sought monetary damages related to her wrongful death plus legal expenses.

The client wanted to creatively show the timeline of events laid out in the complaint with a combination of the facts of the case, and dynamic visuals that hold the attention of the jury while conveying the message as simply as possible.

(Names have been changed to protect the privacy of those involved.)
The Case:
The plaintiff was employed as a "road gang" laborer, and while working on track in Clear Lake, IA the plaintiff was struck by a piece of metal that kicked out of a machine known as a, "Kribber Azer". The projectile struck the plaintiff in the left hip area. At the time of the incident the plaintiff was standing about 160' feet behind the "Kribber" and just outside of the rail separating the shoulder of the road from the grassy area beside the road.

The client wanted to show the data from the complaint in a way that would illustrate the large amount of medical attention the plaintiff required, for many years, resulting from the injury sustained while working as a "road gang" laborer. They also wanted to differentiate between the various types of medical care the plaintiff received over the years to date.
The Case:
The plaintiff, a young high school girl was riding a Chicago Transit Authority bus from her high school. As the bus passed by a rival high school, some passengers on the bus pulled the emergency button to manually open the back door. A fight ensued and the plaintiff got off the bus amid the scuffle and was trying to get back on. The driver, in an effort to get away from the rival high school, drove away with the back door open, running over the young girl and dragging her under the bus. She suffered multiple pelvic fractures and sought monetary damages to cover medical and legal expenses.

In this exhibit, the client wanted to show the contrast between the proper procedures to follow in this particular event, versus what the driver of the bus actually did. They wanted a simple, yet effective way to visually show each of the events leading up to the plaintiff's injuries and what could have been done to prevent it.
