A Soap for Cardiff - 'Now In A Minute'
For this project we had the opportunity to create a Shop/Business, a Flat and an Exterior design for a given company which in my case was a Fish & Chip Shop for a fictional Tv Soap Opera our class decided to call 'Now In A Minute'.
For my Shop I created a logo and a name which related to my created characters who lived in the flat above and ran the business called 'Praise be to Cod'. As my family were Catholics I decided that a play on words would be a good insight into what the shop was selling as well as who and what the family were like.
I found this project really insightful and actually learnt a thing or two about my own design style and how I prefer approaching a project. To begin with i decided that I would use Adobe AutoCAD to draught my technical drawings instead of draughting by hand and I found that I prefer this method as it more transportable and allows me to see my work in a clearer way and work on the details more specifically.
^^ This is was my original conceptional Art for my project, I researched various business shop front's and the history behind Fish & Chip shops and found that I loved the small, Victorian style shops that were around when the shops were established.
^^ I then proceeded to create several visual references and moodboard's to allow me to get an overall style and vision for how I wanted to design the shop.
^^ Following my Visual References I created my technical drawings for the project
^^ Models I produced after completing my Technical Drawings, this allowed me to see the space in a 3D perspective and get a better understanding of how it would work.
^^ From my finished model I created 3 visuals that allowed me to merge my mood board with the layout I had designed to show how I would want the shop to appear if it were to go on to be built for the show.
