Major Project - YCN Competition Entry

Every year, education institution YCN launch their Students Awards. A group of real companies ask for entries from students across the world to create new material that will in some way market an aspect of the company. 

I chose to complete the brief for The Grown Up Chocolate Company. They wanted an identity in the form of packaging and a landing page for their new 'free-from' bars that would highlight their business outlook as well as the health benefits. For full details of the brief, they can be accessed here.

For this design, I used a colour scheme of magenta and bright green to coincide with my illustration. I created a chef character that was made up of simple shapes to reflect the handmade element to the bars as well as a certain cheekiness that I hoped would appeal to the company's market. I created the titles and other written components myself and I hope this will correlate nicely towards my hopes of becoming a creative or copywriting role. Although the ingredients were taken from existing products, my aim was to give the judges an indication as to what they would look like if they were to go in to production.
