Craig O'Dear's Five Campaign Principles

For 30 years, attorney Craig O'Dear has served as a partner in the firm Bryan Cave LLP in Kansas City, Missouri. In January of 2018, Craig O'Dear announced his interest in running for the United States Senate in the upcoming November election.

A Missouri native, Craig O'Dear grew up in a small farming community, a background that helps him to understand the needs of his neighbors across the country. Driven by a belief that the currently divisive two-party system is failing to meet these needs, he has linked his campaign to the Centrist Project, which strives to bring independent candidates together along a set of unified principles.

Mr. O'Dear has drawn on the ideals of the Centrist Project, soon to be Unite America, to develop his own set of five guiding principles for his campaign. They include the concepts of valuing nation above party; promoting the public good over special interests; and honoring the universally applicable values of equality, opportunity, and responsibility to others and to the world.

In addition to these principles, Mr. O'Dear has confirmed his commitment to accountability and clarity in all political messages and campaigns. He has identified as another principle the shared responsibility of participation in government and, with this value in mind, intends to use reason and rationality to develop political solutions based on commonality.
