IBM research workshop was conducted which was followed by a design challenge competition. The task assigned to the group teams was to convert an existing website into a spoken web format for mobile application to make it more interactive. The website chosen was Bharat Matrimony and converted into spoken web for people those who cannot read and follow the instructions. Time given to complete the task was 3 hours.
User needs, functional specification, information architecture and navigation. This design process was followed which led us to design a clear and crisp interaction.
The output was in form of audio which explained the user step by step navigation of the application. The application had features of searching Bride or Groom by feeding user's specifications and requirements. Further, it would generate backup if the user is logging into the application more than once. Bookmarking was one of the key feature incorporated in this application. Bookmarking helps the user to directly switch to the selected profiles. If the user finds the perfect match he/she can call the nearest center to get more personal details.
