Interactive Design Project
Guide: Mr. Rupesh Vyas

This is a part of my interactive media project, where we redesign chosen interfaces.

In this project we were suppose to study a system and give solution for the problem we encounter in the process. I chose to work on the Knowledge Management Center of our institute, which is a resource of audio/video information and has over 36,000 books.

I studied in detail about the Dewey Decimal System, which is practiced to have a better understanding of the distribution of various subjects. I tried to keep the language minimal, which could reflect the language of the institute's website as well, but have an identity for itself too.
Home page.
It's connected to two main pages, explore page enables options like search & advance search, on the other hand arrivals tell you about the list of new books in the KMC. User is provided with all the links in the footer as well.
Search option allows the user to look for resources universally, by default.
Another option is provided to limit the search to a certain medium.
Few pages for the same website.
The ''sign in' page lets the students of the institute to log on to their profile and check
the books issued from their account, books they have requested and their search history
'Advance search' allows the user to filter their search the way they prefer.
There are quite a few external website links, for better reference, on the website. These web links enable the user to visit exclusive websites for research papers and other vital material. These links are presented in a pop-up box, to avoid interference in the workflow, and opens the link in a separate tab of the window.
Landing page for the search, advance search and new arrivals.
There would be minimal changes in the header, apart from that, the layout would be same more or less.
